Cracking Slabs
Cracking open a slab is a surgical process and should be carefully considered. This process has potential to damage the card but can be done successfully with the proper tools and training. I have cracked hundreds of slabs without an incident and successfully upgraded a lot of them.
Grading Cracked Cards
Cracking and resubbing can be financially rewarding. Here at Card Review we have successfully upgraded many cracked cards, some of which are on display in the Gallery.
The Process
Before cracking the slab, a thorough inspection of the card will be preformed and a report sent to the owner. Should the owner want to proceed we will carefully crack open the slab and retrieve the raw card. The plastic holder is disposed but the grading flip is retained. Your raw card will be cleaned and inspected subject to our same Card Review standards. You will receive the same detailed report before deciding to resubmit for grading.
